In 1997 I translated 3,000 words per day, 6 days per week for one year. I translated Wall Street Journal-like articles about the various Asian stock markets, including the mini crash of 1997, and specific Indonesian market sectors. The Reuters News Service at the time said they liked the English quality, and it wasn't my first gig translating to English.
Here is the Indonesia Economic Almanac by Bisnis Indonesia. After translating over half of the articles in this volume, I was asked to translate on a daily basis for the Indonesian business daily, "Bisnis Indonesia," and that is how I solidified my writing around business.
Unfortunately, that gig ended when my salary in Indonesian Rupiah was drastically devalued!
