Batik Moon at "The Buck" in Jack London Square, Sunday Aug 18, 11-5pm. 2019
There will be a new design unveiled at The Buck, so come and see what we are up to!
Come enjoy the atmosphere at the Oakland waterfront. When we checked out the last "The Buck" event, we enjoyed Thai Iced tea on a terrace nearby. It was really pleasant.

TRANSCRIPT OF TEE SHIRT MAKING VIDEO ABOVE
Welcome to Batik Moon at the Maker Faire. Let’s make our own tee shirts!
Making a class tee shirt is a great way to memorialize the teachers and students class year. These are the El Sobrante Dolphins.
After Ms. Turner’s 3rd grade voted on an animal (the choices were dolphin or lady bug) the stencil was made and each child stenciled the same blue dolphin on to a white tee shirt they’d brought from home.
It’s a fast process; the project is carried from station to station like a cafeteria tray. There’s a helper to help with stenciling. Then the individual decoration is up to the kids.
The tee shirts capture the unity of the classroom but also express the individuality of each student. And! The shirts are personalized with the child’s name or signature!
The kids feel like they are part of a team, and each dolphin gets its own facial expression.
Kids love making a professional looking design. It’s easy. Everyone gets the same basic design, but...
Each one’s a little bit different.
And they make a great group project.
Thanks for watching our video of how to make a class tee shirt at the maker faire!
